About The Bride Is Ready Series
Who is the Bride of Christ, and how does she make herself ready? These questions and more are explored in this piercing series as Martha digs deep into the blessings AND requirements of Christ's own Bride.
Revelation 3:21 NASB
“He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on the throne.”
The sin that plagues us and the evil that hounds us…both are the challenge of overcoming that gains the ruling position for the Bride. The purpose for evil is to overcome evil.
The clear implication from the mouth of the Reigning Christ (in Revelation 1-3) is that the Bride is one who overcomes—and only such a one is the Bride. The “mystery of lawlessness” is constantly at work in the world and assaults relentlessly the ones who live for the pleasure of the Lord, and so pursue the holiness of Bridehood (2 Thess. 2:7).
God is sovereign over every event, no matter how wicked. Yet evil does not originate with God. He is incapable of destruction for the pleasure of destruction. The pitting of the Evil Entity pushes against the presence of a Gracious God. And in the lap of God’s children lies the outcome, and on their response the balance rests.
The reward for overcoming is ruling and reigning in the next life, but it is given based on ruling and reigning in this life. The “overcoming edict” is pictured throughout scripture in all the Bridal stories.
