About The Hour of Our Destiny Series
September 11 plunged our nation into crisis. This series documents the move of God, the role of intercessory prayer, and the Spirit's wisdom, provision and protection in times of turmoil.
October 5, 2001 – Friday
I have at times heard people talk about “seeing” things, and it was so outside my range of experience that it seemed like sheer fantasy. I understand how these things I am seeing could seem unreal.
Last night, I stilled myself to watch with my Lord. I gazed at His face and I saw a great stillness and silence in heaven, and a myriad of angels standing still and silent. I asked the Father, “What is the meaning of this?” I sensed His answer was, “The angels are waiting and ready to be sent.” It was as if they were waiting for the people of God to give the command. I just pondered it in silence until this morning.
Then I was studying I Chronicles 12:19-22, where David’s army was amassing through many volunteers coming to join him. In verse 22: For at that time they came to David day by day to help him, until it was a great army, like the army of God. The footnote in the Nelson Study Bible says, “The army of God refers to the angelic hosts, too vast to count. David attracted so many recruits while he was in the wilderness . . . that they were beyond counting.”
The host of angels I saw was beyond counting. I believe the attack is imminent but the angels must go in first. Hear me, they MUST go in first! I am waiting for the anointing of the Spirit of God to command the angels so that I can join Him. Only the Holy Spirit within the believer is the source of God’s authority and purpose. Oh, we are so in need of the Holy Spirit and we must stay under His absolute government. When He moves, I will move. When He speaks, I will shout.
Ephesians 6, in that great passage about spiritual war, says in verse 18 of the Amplified: “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit with all (manner of) prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).”
I desperately want the safe rescue of the Christian women on trial in Afghanistan, as I’m sure you do also. May God include them in His great provision! O God!
Someone said to me, “I want to be in the heavenlies about this situation.” I said, “There is no reason you cannot be there. But you have to go after it with such zeal. The Lord wants only passionate volunteers. You pray and pray and pray to see; you pray in the Spirit with all the zeal He gives you. Use up that zeal in asking Him to be “involved in His plans” and He will pour His own zeal into you. But you cannot sit back and wait passively. You have to pursue God!”
So I am beginning to pray fervently in the Spirit for my own permission and commission to direct the angels in harmony with God’s will and highest desire.
Saints! We are poised on the precipice of all out war and the angels are ready to go. Stand with me and with God and pray constantly for the Word of the Lord to say, “GO!” I am crying out, begging for a human army of VOLUNTARY prayer warriors beyond number and an “army of God” beyond number, that together we may GO IN!
October 6, 2001 – Saturday
This morning the Holy Spirit called for the piercing shouts of “Go! Go!” similar to the shouts that must have demolished the walls of Jericho . . . and the release of the myriad of angels occurred. Imagine the shout of God through us! How frightening that would be to the powers of darkness!
