PrintAbout Rule and Reign Like Daniel Series
Daniel believed in God as Ruler, so he brought Heaven’s Rule into his earthly government and heathen captors. Do you rule and reign like Daniel did?
Devotional
I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven and my understanding and the right use of my mind returned to me, and I blessed the Most High [God] and I praised and honored and glorified Him who lives forever.
Daniel 4:34 AMPC
The ‘right use of my mind’ is to glorify the Most High God. To think on His goodness, greatness, and permanence is the purpose of the mind. That is true sanity and we have stability and clarity of mind only when God is the object of thought and question.
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
Isaiah 26:3 AMPC
Nebuchadnezzar was not insane because there was something wrong with his mind that he couldn’t help. His ‘constant’ thoughts were on himself, and the enemy could flatter him there, in secret ways that then became ludicrous public words and irrational acts.
When his self-obsessed thought collapsed, and he moved his focus on God, his mind came into its right use…to praise the Most High.
