About Let Series
LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.
Hebrews 12:2 HCSB
…keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith…
There’s more exciting insight from the Greek root meaning of ‘perfecter.’ This is from Louw-Nida, which looks at the way a word is used in the culture and interprets it from that standpoint.
Here’s LN68.24 – ‘perfecter’: one who makes possible the successful completion of something – one who completes, perfecter. Or ‘looking to Jesus on whom (our) faith depends from beginning to end.’
Our faith depends on Jesus’ action in and for us. Imagine the ‘successful completion’ of your destiny! This declares the certainty of Christ’s ability to carry us to win our individual race (mentioned in verse 1) and constitutes a promise of amazing possibilities.
I no longer have to look at my inadequacy. That is irrelevant. I do not need to know what the Lord is doing. That is His business. I can be free of fear of future failure. The success of my journey is His problem.
So this is the return to our Little Big word: Let. Receive. Allow. Surrender.
Let Christ impart His own faith to you for His limitless ability to complete to perfection, your walk of faith!
