Genesis 15:5, 6 NASB
“. . . count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.
Abram didn’t believe in the promise nor the sign in the heavens. He believed in the LORD GOD who promised, a personal and ever-present Master with whom he could be honest and needy.
Adonai was the God who was with Abram, over the man, down in his deep agonies of living.
