I will say of the Lord (Yah Veh), “He is my refuge and my fortress…”
Psalm 91:2 NKJV
Yah Veh (Jehovah) means the revealing one. When God chooses to reveal Himself (through Jesus), He is letting you know Him intimately as Jehovah, His very identity.
Moses, who wrote this psalm, knew God face to face, a privilege that is given to all believers, the in-Christ-ones. Moses knew God as El Elyon (the Most High) and as Shadday (all-sufficient), and he declares this knowledge of God. But when he speaks directly TO God, he addresses Jehovah. It is clear in scripture that those who knew God intimately were in communion with Jehovah, the personal name of a personally present God.
