LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.

1 Peter 1:8-9 ESV (Reading 1 Peter 1:3-9)
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
LeAnn Z. wrote:
“Dearest Martha, Why does our Lord want us to ‘look as though through a glass’ to see Him? What is His goal? That we will be like the Shulamite, seeking Him with earnest hearts?”
This is such a rich question and I realize I should have addressed it earlier.
In 1 Peter 1, Peter was writing to Christians scattered across the world, mostly Gentiles (people who did not see Jesus when He was alive on earth). They were suffering persecution and were discouraged. In verses 3-7, he calls their suffering a ‘trial of faith.’
There may be more or other insights but I believe that this is the age that requires faith in the reality of Christ and all His promises. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6). All things come from God by faith.
