LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.

It seems that Jesus is still speaking only to Nicodemus, giving him all the secrets and every aspect of God’s eternal plan from beginning to end, in the clearest and simplest sequence. Fascinating! Did this Pharisee write Jesus’ discourse down word for word for John to record? This word of Jesus is so central, so concise and so very stark (Reading John 3:14-20). One could spend a year, a lifetime, on these few verses!
The most shocking conclusion:
John 3:19 AMPC
The [basis of the] judgment (indictment, the test by which men are judged, the ground for the sentence) lies in this: the Light has come into the world, and people have loved the darkness rather than and more than the Light, for their works (deeds) were evil.
Too simple, too stark. Your life consists of and is judged entirely on what you love and there are only two loves! Light and darkness.
Whatever else you may call it, name it, think it, our choice is made on the basis of what we love more. Actually it’s not really a choice, it’s a love and it seems there are only two loves for humanity: Light or darkness. Two realms, two owners.
The bottom line, the last demarcation, the final judgment and the just sentence…will be what we love most. You can genuinely love light yet still love darkness more. And most do. It’s what you love the most.
We are not caught, we want.
We are not tricked, we love.
