About Let Series
LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.
Then God said, “Let there be light;” and there was light.
Genesis 1:3 NASB
From the Greek Hebrew Study Bible, Zodhiates:
“Let there be” is Hayah, a major Hebrew verb that means to exist, to be, to become, and to be done. It is used 3,540 times in the Hebrew Old Testament.
The key to the meaning of Jehovah Yahweh is undoubtedly found in this verb. Perhaps “I am that I am” should be translated “I am He who is,” or “I am He Who exists.” The timelessness of God, as well as His ever-present existence, is something that must be believed (Heb. 1:3).
