About What’s In A Name? Series
What's in a name? Names identify, explain, and serve to distinguish one from another. What do God's names reveal to us about Him, coming from Him?
Genesis 17:1 NASB
Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.”
To read what is NOT there in scripture is to discover the marvel and wonder of God. Who is He? Certainly not who we think…
God doesn’t accuse, condemn or remind Abram. He has made His point and Abram finally understood it. That’s all God wants: “Just know WHO I am.” And He is willing to reveal personally Who He is!
Abram’s God comes down to the man who didn’t come to Him, offering an open invitation with all acceptance. The Almighty has patience greater than our long folly, grace bigger than our foolish rebellion, and a blessed solution that boggles our imagination.
