About Law of Liberty Series
The Law of the Spirit isn't a new set of rules or method that you must perform - it's all done for you. What is this Law of Liberty all about?
Reading Acts 6:10 & 15
A great crowd of Jews (Acts 6:9 gives the list) rose up to “debate and dispute with Stephen.” They chose Stephen for his prominence, but it was God who gave to Stephen an opportunity to confront the Jewish leaders, because he could be trusted to speak only from the Spirit. The only trustworthy believer is the one who lives utterly dependent on the Holy Spirit.
10. They were not able to resist the intelligence and the wisdom and (the inspiration of) the Spirit with which and by Whom he spoke.
15. All who sat in the council (Sanhedrin) as they gazed intently at Stephen, saw that his face had the appearance of the face of an angel.
Stephen gave an intense address, covering the history of Israel and ending with a fierce condemnation of that religious crowd. This is a vivid painting of a truly spiritual man.
Fearless confrontation and absolute loyalty to God are the marks of a Spirit-filled, Spirit-inspired person.
