About The Road to Union Series
The new creation exists in union with Jesus and the Father—a fact. Yet the road to union isn't based on attainment, but revelation and realization.
The Prison of Sin in “This Body of Death”
Romans 7:24-25 AMPC
O unhappy and pitiable and wretched man that I am! Who will release and deliver me from [the shackles of] this body of death?
O thank God! [He will!] through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One) our Lord! So then indeed I, of myself with the mind and heart, serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Paul asserts that with his thoughts and his affections, and even with his will, he knows God and possesses His standard of life: the Law of God. Paul is captured by God, yet he is defeated from within…by his own flesh!
The law of sin that lives, resides, and wants to rule over Paul’s mind and heart makes him a prisoner against his will, within his own body!
