LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.
Devotional
God has His strange “let it be.”
Jesus told the story of the tares sown with the wheat. Tares are poisonous weeds. And of course the servants wanted to pull them out. The devil planted tares (poisonous weeds) among the wheat, but the master said that to pull them out would pull up the wheat, too.
Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.
Matthew 13:30 ESV
God has His own long-term plan, knowing beyond and above our small seeing. Jesus explained that “the weeds are the sons of the evil one and the enemy who sowed them is the devil.”
The sons of the evil one, those who are given over to Satan, will remain until the end of the age, then they will be ‘harvested’ and thrown in the fiery furnace.
To what God lets, we can only bow.
