About What’s In A Name? Series

What's in a name? Names identify, explain, and serve to distinguish one from another. What do God's names reveal to us about Him, coming from Him?

Genesis 17:1-3 NASB
I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”

Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him…

When a person finally recognizes God in His might, he crumbles. It is involuntary! He does not kneel, he crashes to the ground. Abram cannot get low enough when God reveals Himself as truly God!

And when God spoke this new name, Almighty God, Abram saw Him as that Name, in all His power and might—and it decimated him.

(The word ‘fell’ here means to ‘be cast down, fail.’)
