Entering the Kingdom is the true Solution to every problem we have. And since Jesus IS the Kingdom, whenever He is present, the Kingdom is at hand!
Matthew 4:17 NASB
Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Literally, “at hand” meant that the kingdom had come close, it was standing before the people. The kingdom was present. Oh, to comprehend that, to SEE the kingdom! The kingdom is before us, even around us insofar as the King is near.
The Book of Matthew, being the first in order of the gospels, is the book that focuses on the Kingdom of Heaven. This disciple had a great comprehension of the Kingdom. He had seen Christ as King and he had witnessed His kingdom come to earth.
In Matthew, John the Baptist began with the kingdom. When Jesus began to preach, He preached the kingdom. Jesus was proclaiming the “gospel of the kingdom.” The kingdom is the first issue of the gospel and a central theme of Christ’s.
The Sermon on the Mount began with the kingdom: “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom.”
