Psalm 91:1 NKJV
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High (El Elyon)…
“El Elyon is a proper name for God, signifying the exaltedness, supremacy and overwhelming majesty of deity. Elyon means elevated, high, exalted; and is used of the Most High, the Supreme Being (the true God).
It comes from the root word ‘alah’ which means ascend, rise, go up, be lifted up, to be high, to be exalted.”

God is above all. He is higher than every name, every ruler, every situation. He is exalted above war, disease and catastrophe. My life’s safety depends on my spirit seeing Him as “high and lifted up” in His utter dominion and supremacy. Our God sits above all, so exalted that it is virtually incomprehensible and can only be glimpsed by His grace bestowed on our surrender.
