About Who Are You, God? Series
As we consider His names in order to know Him, we pray He will reveal His character, His ways and His outpouring to humanity. Who are you, God?
With a long life I will satisfy him and I will let him see My salvation.
Psalm 91:16 AMP
There are keys in this Psalm, secrets to immunity. Instead of striving and plotting to fortress ourselves from pain or disaster, we need only to know God by His names, His character. We need to know God as He unveils His own being to us personally. He wants to let you SEE His salvation, that it may happen and appear.
The first key is to ‘set your love upon Him.’ Ask God to let you know Him as He truly is, so wonderful and mind-blowing! God’s great names give us but a clue of His identity, His nature, and His power. When we gaze at those holy names, we open the door to that God and let Him into our heart’s vision. Then He can begin to reveal His own Majestic Being!
It’s so amazing that we gloss it over. Our own Creator, the Lord of the universe, the stars and galaxies, the mountains and seas—this One wants us to know Him. God wants us to know Him so that He can cover us with all protecting wonder and all human fulfillment…by knowing His Names!
Jesus prayed this last verse before His arrest, revealing the centrality of His purpose: to reveal God’s identity to sin-blind humanity!
I have made Your name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self and I will continue to make (You) known that the love which You have bestowed on Me, may be in them (felt in their hearts) and that I [Myself] may be in them.
John 17:26 AMPC
