About What’s In A Name? Series

What's in a name? Names identify, explain, and serve to distinguish one from another. What do God's names reveal to us about Him, coming from Him?

Genesis 17:1 Exegesis Bible
Yahveh is seen by Abram and says to him, I am El Shadday

The name El Shaddai is plural, the abundance of the Triune God.

God, the Father made it.
Jesus earned it back by His death.
The Spirit reveals and imparts it.

Because the name implies the Trinity, the richness of its meaning is vast. In Hebrew, El Shaddai actually carries several root words, each one revealing more and more of the Almighty.
