About What’s In A Name? Series

What's in a name? Names identify, explain, and serve to distinguish one from another. What do God's names reveal to us about Him, coming from Him?

Devotional

Genesis 22:17 NASB
Indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies.

El Shaddai is derived from a word that means ‘field.’

The Lord promises Abraham not just one child, but a staggering multiplication as in ‘seed.’ The seed refers to the descendants of Abraham and we believers are among his seed. We stand at the end of this age, as witnesses of the myriads who are the ‘seed’ which El Shaddai – the field of produce – multiplied from the one man who obeyed Him.
