About The Mystery of Discipleship Series

Jesus’ closest disciples were trusted to speak for Him and tell us His story. All are called to the mystery of discipleship, but the choice is ours.

Devotional

Speaking to Simon the Pharisee, Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little” (Luke 7:47 ESV).

The whole root of love for Jesus, from which a larger than life passion grows, is simply repentance. Repentance is seeing from God’s viewpoint how truly, utterly, totally BAD I am. It is total responsibility without blame or excuse – that alone is repentance that can access forgiveness.

The first message of John the Baptist was “Repent!” The first sermon of Jesus was the call, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.”

The size of your love is the size of your forgiven-sin.

The size of your love for Christ is in exact proportion to the size of your repentance.
