About What’s In A Name? Series

What's in a name? Names identify, explain, and serve to distinguish one from another. What do God's names reveal to us about Him, coming from Him?

1 Corinthians 1:27 NASB
God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong…

The most childlike of the disciples was Simon Peter. He was reckless, abandoned, spontaneous, and willing to be utterly captured by Jesus. And it was Peter among the other eleven to whom God gave the revelation of Jesus’ identity.

When Jesus said to Peter, “On this rock I will build my church,” I believe He meant to build His church with those who are as transparent, childlike, responsive and even impetuous as Peter. God chose those to whom He could reveal His Son and His own nature by a revelation, specifically the babes, the foolish and weak.
