PrintAbout Rule and Reign Like Daniel Series
Daniel believed in God as Ruler, so he brought Heaven’s Rule into his earthly government and heathen captors. Do you rule and reign like Daniel did?
Devotional
There is a work. Humanity was created for work in a garden. Work is joy and life. Work is a gift, but by the Fall, we made it a drudgery.
Jesus calls for one work. It remains our part and God will not, cannot do this work. It is ours to do, one work for the gift of everlasting food.
Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you.
John 6:27 ESV
Such an offer! But they caught the work issue. They wanted this food so they inquired about the works to gain it.
Verse 28: Then they said to Him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”
The crowd, used to labor and struggle, assumed it was works plural, many hard works. But Jesus answered in the singular. The work of God for the basic gift, the food of life, is just one work. Not many. Just one. This is the only work we CAN perform, and the only work we NEED to do.
