LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.

Hebrews 12:1 ESV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight…
As I looked back into an old Bible, I was astonished at what I had written in the margin of Hebrews 12:1 – “weight means: tumor, mass, weight, burden, impediment.” I checked again to be sure this was the Greek meaning…and it is.
That word ‘weight’ covers sickness, trouble, and even what is our real responsibility. The meaning of ‘lay aside’ is this: “lay off or aside, renounce, stow away, put.”
I often begin my morning devotions by listing all my burdens, those that are legitimate – prayer, responsibilities – and those things about which I can do nothing but over which I still want to fret and be anxious.
I give the list to the Lord, releasing everything completely to Him. As deeply as I can, I ‘let go.’ I visualize casting it all at His feet and I transfer the responsibility for all to Him. I lay it all aside, away from me. And what is of the Enemy and from Jesus’ enemies, I renounce and put away.
Many times within that same morning, the Spirit comes back to me with the prayer, the answer, or revelation of the situation.
…casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 ESV
Makes you wonder how Peter came to live this… The man had many cares.
