About Finding the New You Series
Revelation is given in the practical places. Every life experience is buried treasure for discovery of who God is and what Jesus has given: a whole, new YOU.
Ephesians 4:22 AMPC
Your old unrenewed self…becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion.
Deceit is the driving force of the Adamic nature. Eve was deceived, and Adam deceived himself and tried to deceive God. Deceit became their very identity.
The phrase in Ephesians 4:22, “deceitful lusts,” signifies lusts excited by deceit, of which deceit is the source of strength, not lusts deceitful in themselves (Vine’s Expository Dictionary).
In 2 Thessalonians 2:10, “all deceit of unrighteousness” signifies all manner of unscrupulous words and deeds designed to deceive. In Colossians 2:8, “vain deceit” suggests that deceit is void of anything profitable.
