About The Mystery of Discipleship Series
Jesus’ closest disciples were trusted to speak for Him and tell us His story. All are called to the mystery of discipleship, but the choice is ours.
Jesus declared that where “two or three are gathered IN MY NAME I am there in their midst” (Matthew 18:20).
One is an individual in relationship with his or her Savior. That is foundational. But two or three together, meeting around their Lord—this is Church. People are Church, but the issue is not simply that two or three are meeting. The sole issue is whether they are meeting in His name. That is, in His life, His Lordship, His headship…all from surrender to Him! This is Church!
Believers can enjoy church life in all places, at any time. Church is Christ’s Headship! And that doesn’t negate any organization or denomination. It doesn’t condemn a church building. The issue is Life. Christ’s Life is Church. Where He is Lord, with two or more, there is the wonder of His life.
