About Rule and Reign Like Daniel Series
Daniel believed in God as Ruler, so he brought Heaven’s Rule into his earthly government and heathen captors. Do you rule and reign like Daniel did?
“He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not…”
Daniel 3:17-18 ESV
Few of us can endure ‘not-knowing’ the ways of God. We haven’t the pure-gold faith for it. At the bottom, our faith is only in ‘knowing’ what God is going to do. If we don’t know, we just make it up and believe God believes us. We want a faith that knows the facts and the future. But these famous three needed only to know Him.
Most of the Christian life is the unknowing of what you believed, the unraveling of ideals you cherished, and being reduced to know the One Who is, as HE IS. Our God is incomprehensible but wants to be known—on His terms. God’s ways are inscrutable but His Being is open, ever unveiling Himself as much as you want to see Him.
“You do not know what your life will be tomorrow” (James 4:13). Spoken by the half-brother of Jesus who would have lived it!
These men had found and heard God and they needed only to know Him. Seeing what He was going to do with them was not a necessity. Their faith rested purely in the ONE Who creates the future.
In actuality there is no future. There is only now. Yesterday is utterly gone. Tomorrow is mere shadow. This day is the sole reality inside the will of God and it holds in unseen mystery all preparation for HIS tomorrow. You have your choices – yes! But God also has the final say, the ultimate choice. When He makes that clear by circumstances of capture, we either bow or bolt.
Learning to live in your personal place of captivity is an exercise of letting God be God and choosing His choice. “Not my will but Thine be done.” Then His Rule rules everything and everyone. And you soar in the amazing perfection of God’s will!
