LET. Wielded by the Holy Spirit, this tiny word had a huge impact on Martha’s life, and the adventure can be yours, too, if you just LET God be GOD.

Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB
LET us run…the race… fixing our eyes on Jesus …
We have looked away from distractions. We have cast aside the hindrances and repented of the besetting sin. Now our eyes have no blinders, blurs or double vision.
What you see is what you become. Your focus becomes your inspiration. What you consistently look at with the eyes of your heart becomes what controls you and defines you.
You can look unto Jesus! You can. You are called to do so, therefore you can look with fixed and vibrant attention to Him. To “fix your eyes on Jesus” is to have the ‘clear eye’ of Matthew 6:22.
The Greek word ‘fixing’ actually means ‘to look steadfastly or intently.’ The root of it means ‘under, near, beside’ and infers going forth from one object to another.
The NASB uses the best word to describe this: “fixing our eyes on Jesus.” Other translations use the words “look away” but that doesn’t convey the strength of the Greek word used here.
The whole meaning is that you move entirely from one object to another – from Self to Jesus. And when you gaze at Him, you come ‘under’ Him, draw near to Him. Jesus IS accessible! Always there to behold.
