About The Mystery of Discipleship Series
Jesus’ closest disciples were trusted to speak for Him and tell us His story. All are called to the mystery of discipleship, but the choice is ours.
Luke 14:15-17 NASB
When one of those who were reclining at the table with Him heard this, he said to Him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!”
But He said to him, “A man was giving a big dinner, and he invited many; and at the dinner hour he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come; for everything is ready now.’”
The great finale of discipleship will be the Marriage of the Lamb. It is the Father’s goal and gift to His Son. It is a real and coming event. For the disciple, the Marriage Supper is the reward of this life’s struggle, the highest union with the Lord. And for that reason, it is the motivation and direction of the disciple.
The Father’s goal for His Beloved Son becomes (by the work of the Spirit) the disciple’s own goal and secret joy: “The Marriage of the Lamb!”
