About The Mystery of Discipleship Series
Jesus’ closest disciples were trusted to speak for Him and tell us His story. All are called to the mystery of discipleship, but the choice is ours.
Luke 14:33-34 NASB
So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.
Therefore, salt is good; but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned?
The true disciple is “therefore”…salt.
Salt is the hidden substance, the unseen spark of food’s enjoyment. The food is enjoyed, while the salt is forgotten. So it is with the disciple. The very presence of a disciple brings the life of Christ into the ordinariness and tragedy of life.
The disciple is the unseen force of God-Life in the midst of inertia and nothingness.
