What's in a name? Names identify, explain, and serve to distinguish one from another. What do God's names reveal to us about Him, coming from Him?

Genesis 3:19-20 NASB
“By the sweat of your face
you will eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
because from it you were taken;
For you are dust,
and to dust you shall return.”
Now the man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.
This is the first appearance of Eve’s name. Adam gave it to her, not God. “The mother of all the living.”
Before the fall, Adam and his wife shared an original union…by likeness, by difference and in completion. But sin separated them, and their union with each other died. Now all mankind – male and female – are born into a primal separation and a strident need of each other, the mending of which exists only in Christ.
