Luke 2:25-26 AMPC
Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout [cautiously and carefully observing the divine Law] and looking for the Consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
And it had been divinely revealed (communicated) to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
Jesus came the first time in absolute obscurity. But His coming was the secret God shared with those close to His heart, who loved His will more than self.
A handful knew He was coming. Fewer knew He had come.
Simeon, an old priest in the Temple, waited for Messiah and lived for His coming. Imagine! It had been divinely revealed to him that he would live to see the ‘Lord’s Christ’ with his own eyes.
The Heavenly Father prepared everything beforehand in exquisite detail for His Son’s venture into humanity. And it is so now…
